Spring
Spring lovers have flowers on the mind. For many, they’re the symbol of warm weather and sunshine, as well as being that much closer to summer. It’s no surprise that flowers are so widely enjoyed, but don’t just enjoy them outside, incorporate them into your interior decor. Consider new place mats, curtains and a vase/center piece for the kitchen. As the sunlight shines through, these pastel accents are sure to pop. Small additions can make all the difference.
Summer
If you’re still enjoying your new spring decor, this same decor can work for the summer months as well. Not to worry if you want some new additions, there’s plenty of options. As the sun gets brighter, so do the color schemes. Bright shades of teal, purple and orange are popular choices for this time of year, even if it’s just a small amount of it. The brightness alone is enough to change the look and the feel. If you spend time in your yard during the summer like many do, you’ll also want to consider some outdoor pieces. This includes patio furniture, cushions and even the serving pieces you may bring out for gatherings. Summer is supposed to be fun, so go with fun colors and fun designs, such as chevron.
Fall
Fall is all about warm and darker shaded colors. Incorporate colors such as mustard yellow, maroon and rust. Colors of nature can be thrown into the mix as well, such as green, tan and brown. Going along with nature, nature-inspired decorations are among the most popular this time of year. The trees, leaves, pumpkins, and pine cones serve as great examples of the beautiful aspects of nature during the fall season. Using them for decorating will add to that cozy feeling that the fall tends to bring. Try wrapping artificial leaves down the banister and throughout your shelves, or create a DIY wreath using the items listed. Once Halloween is over, your home will already be styled for Thanksgiving.
Winter
While many people stay away from wearing white until the summer, decorating your home with white is completely acceptable, and recommended! Metals, metallic, whites, and ivories are the colors of winter decorating. Become inspired by the bare trees and white snow, and aim for that simple but sparkling look. Let’s face it, the winter is pretty to look at, but not always pretty to feel. Turn your home into your warm getaway by decorating with sweater-inspired throw pillows, cinnamon stick candles, twinkling lights, and more! Whether you’re decorating for fun or in need of a home refresh, try to consider the season, it could spark some great decorating inspiration. It sounds tough to change the decor every season, but you may be surprised at how easy and inexpensive minor changes can be.
